Despite being a relative newcomer to the field, Albarriyah Magazine has gained an enviable reputation for the quality and scholarship of its articles and research studies. The magazine’s popularity and professionalism are the result of the high standards set by its writers and editors. Albarriyah Magazine will consider for publication works that are related to military studies and strategy as well as literary and cultural areas. In order to maintain its unique position in military, social and cultural communities, the management of the Magazine has set guidelines for submissions. To be considered for publication, all submissions must adhere to these guidelines. Foremost among these guidelines is that any submission must not:
• contain material associating Allah with any false god
• promote adultery
• impugn believers in their private family affairs
• contain material which could be construed as libelous or defamatory
• encourage immoral speech or deeds
• insult a brotherly or friendly country
• contain material offensive to any country with which the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia maintains good relations
The Leadership of Saudi Arabia is committed to respecting all religions and sects. In line with this commitment, the Magazine will not accept content that shows disrespect to, or maligns, any religion, sect or group or which promotes discrimination, either directly or indirectly. The Magazine welcomes contributions from established authors in the local, Arab and international cultural arenas. Due to the prominence accorded by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Arabic Language, in which the Quran was revealed, only submissions in the Arabic language will be considered. Articles in other languages must be translated into Arabic prior to submission. Material is accepted for publication contingent on acceptance of international conventions relating to copyright legislation. Neither Albarriyah Magazine nor the Commandant of the Land Forces will be held responsible for any breach of copyright by participating authors. It is the author’s responsibility to obtain copyright agreements / waivers where necessary. For reasons of exclusivity, submissions that have been published in any other private or government publication cannot be accepted. Authors who have had articles relating to scientific research published by academic agencies may, however, submit them for publication. Suitable references and footnotes are obligatory for articles and research-oriented topics. On publication, Albarriyah Magazine will provide financial compensation of 600 Saudi Riyals, including bank transfer fees. This is sent to the author within 60 days from the date of the issue in which the article has been published. In exceptional cases, this allowance may be negotiated upwards. On publication, the Magazine communicates with the authors to get their updated contact information, and a copy of the issue is sent by mail to each. Should it be discovered that an article or contribution has previously been published in another publication or has been submitted to another publication, the author’s compensation will be withheld. The author will also be barred from submitting to future editions of Albarriyah Magazine. The Magazine reserves the right not to disclose reasons for declining to publish an article or feature. Technical issues: Length Restrictions Submissions should be between 3,000 – 7,000 words. This stipulation may be waived for non-research articles. In specific instances, at the discretion of the Editor-In-Chief, submissions exceeding the 7,000 word limit may be accepted. Style Issues Items intended for publication should meet the following stipulations: All submissions must adhere to the basic rules of grammar, syntax, punctuation and related editorial items. Authors must submit their work via the website, in Word format, preferably with a font size of16-point. Including borders or framing in the submission is not necessary. The title of the article should be on top, followed by the author’s name. (It is not necessary to include the country, city, phone number or mailing address.) Supplementary Material Charts or tables supporting the submission may also be attached. Photographs should be attached in the case of articles where they are essential. They are not required otherwise. A photograph of the author may, however, be attached, provided it is of a resolution sufficient for publication.
